Iranian Navy gets new naval cruise missile systems - 3 Jan. 2011

New systems of coastal cruise missile were delivered to Iran's naval forces' operation units. IRI's Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, in the ceremony, referring to the wide range of the country's maritime boundaries and the necessity of their preservation, said designation and manufacturing of coastal sites for launching long-range and mid-range cruise missiles is in the Defense Ministry's agenda and it has achieved considerable progress. Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi added by establishment of the sites in the coastal lines, the command control unit could discover, identify and destroy several targets. Vahidi went on to say that undoubtedly, the sites not only would increase IRI's naval defense might but also could play an important role in providing security and stability of the region.
